Volunteer at Gleaners
Volunteer opportunities
Volunteers are essential to Gleaners Food Bank.
From our warehouse to our special events, a person’s time and effort are gifts that make a measurable impact on what we do—and on the folks we serve.
We welcome your contribution.
Opportunities for individuals and groups
Gleaners offers multiple ways for a person to make a difference.
We also have a variety of opportunities for groups. After all, volunteering is great for team-building exercises, youth groups and all kinds of clubs.
Check out the ways you or your group can help below. Then contact Claudea Voyles to sign up or get more information.

Current opportunities
Salvage: Gleaners' salvage volunteers are trained to sort and repack food and grocery products. We need volunteers Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A commitment of at least four hours is required. (Occasionally, we also need weekend and evening crews.)
Distribution: Distribution volunteers process product orders from nearly 400 user charities. It’s a daylong opportunity, which you’ll share with many other like-minded folks. Distribution volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Clerical assistance: Clerical volunteers help us maintain our records and files. Research, mailings and data entry are also regular needs. We need volunteers Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Speakers Bureau representatives: Tell the Gleaners story to church groups, neighborhood associations, schools and more. Contact us for a Speakers Bureau application. (For more information, see the Speakers Bureau page.)
Special events: From food drives to fundraisers, we have events throughout the year. As a volunteer, you’ll be contacted with specific opportunities as event dates approach.
